aquarium update v0.10
after 1 million years i'm finally finished up with the update that by all means should have been done like 6 months ago considering both how little it actually changes and how much of it i got done like immediately after the last update and then just...didn't finish for forever
but i am trying to be easier on myself since i am constantly on the verge of/in the midst of burnout and if it takes 9 months to redraw a couple maps then it takes 9 months to redraw a couple maps i guess
anyway,
most of this update is just visual upgrades, there were a lot of maps i had to rush to get done and a few details i didnt get to add during the last minute crunch during the game jam last year so i took the time to finally add & fix all of that up. this is essentially just the "this is what the original jam entry would have looked like if i had enough time to actually properly finish the bits that i started" update, there isn't really any new "content" aside from a few new details here and there, so it might not be worth a replay if you've already played it (since like 90% of the game is exactly the same and there isn't any new shit to do) but that's up to you really.
at the very least now whenever i feel like making more areas in the future i can easily do that without constantly going "oh, but wait, i gotta go back and fix like 30 things that should've been there from the start" lol
real changelog:
-lots of various visual improvements including redrawn & touched-up maps, new images when saving, falling asleep, and inspecting a couple certain things, & some fixes on certain sprites
-you can now activate an animation by pressing 1, doesn't work while the "fixed" effect is active though (since i was too tired to bother with making new sprites for that one...it'll get a silly animation next time)
-a couple new very small maps (that are just parts of larger worlds rather than being unique areas)
-the "stripped" effect is now located in a slightly different place with a much more interesting way of obtaining it, though it is reached via the same route as before
-more misc dialogue when interacting with different things around paint's home
-audio balancing is a little bit better
-there's now a single bench somewhere that you can sit on. this is the sitting update.
