A downloadable game for Windows

yume nikki fangame featuring a stone statue named paint

originally an entry for dream diary jam 7

short demo. 3 effects currently available (2 of which are purely cosmetic)

game may have issues running on lower end computers, (thanks, MV.) it works fine on my pc but i haven't had the time to test it on a worse one. in theory it SHOULD be fine though

some maps may cause slight eyestrain

there isn't a lot of content here so i guess it mostly works as a proof of concept

there is no ending or goal currently

so you can probably just stop as soon as you're pretty sure you've seen everything.

Astounding, a unique design at every corner of the place. My criticism? Is that I'm worried this is taking a lot out of you as the developer to make. Take care of yourself.

Thank you for playing! I enjoyed seeing your thoughts on it :)

 And thank you for the concern as well, fortunately I am Finally taking it easy these days, haha ^^;

No problem! Also that's good to hear! Wish you well!

Amazing!

One of my favourite YN fangames so far.

You do a great job suggesting so much about Paint's world and psyche through little to no text. I especially like how you take the opportunity to have Paint's home tell us about them. I feel like a lot of YNFGs miss this. Every detail from the ancient computer, the pedestals with missing statues, and the lone chair in front of the massive aquarium expresses to me a strong feeling of melancholy. Even small details like the cracked and leaking title communicate that this is a place that is continuing on long past its prime.

Paint's dreamlands alternately show Paint's good-natured inner world and reflect the bleakness of the world they live in. Your drawings are really charming and I love how the hand drawn style mirrors Paint's love of crafting. Overall the game's setting and character feel well rounded and like there's much more to learn about them both. Out of curiosity I tried decoding the language Paint and the others speak in and it was cool to see that it is an English cypher. I really enjoyed your game and I'm glad I got to play it!

Oh my gosh I love love LOOOOVED this!!

As a yume nikki fan I never played many fangames, but this one feels just as it should!! It's clearly inspired by yume nikki but it has so many unique and different parts to it it almost feels like it could be its own thing!

It captures the feeling of "dreaminess" perfectly. I was only able to achieve one effect so far but just like a yume nikki game should be, I'm having boatloads of fun just wandering around the different environments and seeing all there is to see! I never know what I'm going to encounter next and yet everything I come across is all equally beautiful and magical.

Like oh my GOD I can't sing my praises of the art enough!! Everything is drawn with such care and love and it really shines through. Part of me wishes I could just rip it off my screen and hang it on my wall! Like this game just makes me feel so cozy in and out just by looking at the artwork! It feels nostalgic to things that never were and makes me feel like I'm under the covers on a rainy night playing videogames with plots I don't remember but feelings that I remember being good ones.

I also ADORE the character designs, both of the main character and all the special little NPCs I've come across! I'm excited to come across more! (Also also the sound design is GREAT and even little details like the GUI work so wonderfully and really pull it all together!)

I could probably go on and on just about the little but I played but I loved EVERYTHING about this and I'm so excited for when I'm able to play more and get the other effects too! Wonderful work on this, I love it so much!! <3
